Hello everyone – nice of you to drop by our blog (again). Today, for once, there’s no typical Ronny post. To mark the end of the #ContiEuropeanRoadshow, we want to take a general look at the ‘On the road’ category and reminisce. Let’s take a look at what we experienced together over the two years, where we travelled and which events we attended.
At a glance:
- Travelling through 23 different countries in Europe
- 65 diverse blog articles by Ronny
- A total of 907 photos and ten videos
- Over 37,000 kilometres covered by Ronny with the show truck
- More than 376 hours on the road
So much for the rough data, now it’s time to take a closer look at Ronny’s time: Where has Ronny been all this time this year? In the last Spotlight article, we took a look back at the past year, this time we’re looking ahead to 2024.
Ronny’s stops this year
March
Spring is quietly knocking on the door, and Ronny heads for the Netherlands. His first stop takes him to tranquil Schelluinen, where he spends two days with tyre dealer Leen Post Banden. The journey continues to Veghel, where bulk goods haulier Van den Bosch is waiting for him. In Beesd, he experiences two intensive days of training and events at the commercial vehicle manufacturer Volvo, before ending the month in Deventer. At Helmondse Banden Centrale in the tyre workshop and a Euromasters branch, he ended his tour with exciting encounters and new contacts.

April
April brings adventure on the Iberian Peninsula. Everything starts smoothly at Bestdrive in Irun, but his nerves are put to the test in Lousado and later in Seville – power cuts and a weak air conditioning system put his improvisation skills to the test. Particularly curious in Zaragoza: not a toilet brush in sight! Madrid, on the other hand, welcomes him with a festival of logistics before he focuses on changing tyres at Recacor in Pinto. The month ended in Tarragona at the tyre dealer Confortauto comercial.

May
From the Côte d’Azur via Genoa to Milan, where Transpotec opens its doors, Ronny will be travelling along picturesque routes in May. His journey continues to Switzerland, more precisely to Hunzenschwil, where internal events and customer events alternate at Bestdrive. The high Swiss prices make him swallow several times. While the problems with the air conditioning continued, the municipality of Hinwil followed with an exciting test track at the ‘Touring Club‘.

June
Austria welcomes Ronny in June with an impressive backdrop. In Innsbruck, high in the mountains at the ÖAMTC centre, the air conditioning is repaired – finally! Freshly aired out, he conquers Salzburg and Marchtrenk before there are important presentations for the big names in the truck world such as MAN and Scania in Wiener Neudorf. Brno in the Czech Republic offers a gigantic trade fair stage, but it is only in Puchov that Ronny finds some time for himself and his fitness at the wellness hotel. The month ends in Prague at the exhibition centre and at BestDrive.

July
The height of summer brings Ronny back to Germany, where his truck urgently needs an overhaul. Once the work is done, the highlight of the year awaits him: the Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring! Here he socialises with like-minded people and experiences thrilling races up close.

August
Sweden is calling, and Jönköping becomes the setting for Ronny’s August trip. The Elmia trade fair captivates him despite the persistent rain. The northern Europeans are enthusiastic and the two days at the fair fly by.

September
September takes Ronny to Eastern Europe, where Romania welcomes him with open arms. In Alba Iulia, he spends three days in a golf hotel, visits a historic citadel, a wine tasting and golf lessons. Bulgaria, on the other hand, presents him with challenges: A ceiling collapse in Plovdiv and technical breakdowns in Sofia turn the events into feats of strength. Serbia is no less turbulent: customs chaos in Lapovo. But Belgrade surprises with a unique event location between old railway carriages. Croatia brings the month to a close, but the record-breaking waiting time at customs in Zagreb almost spoilt the mood. Fortunately, the event at the ‘Tokic’ retail chain for car parts in Split is a grand finale to his time in Croatia.

October
Ronny spends the autumn in Slovenia and Hungary. The transport fair in Ljubljana is exclusively for invited guests, but the real adventure awaits in Ptuj, where motorsport, karting and even basketball characterise the day. Last but not least, it’s off to Hungary: an event at Trans Sped in Debrecen and sightseeing in Budapest round off the trip. Then it’s off to Veszprem, where Ronny once again puts his skills to the test on a private test track.
