Why I’m so Excited about the Truck Grand Prix

Hi everyone and nice of you to stop by our blog (again). Hanover, Frankfurt, Eislingen and now the Nürburgring in the Eifel – at the moment, I’m on the road in Germany instead of other European countries. And not just for the roadshow, but also in normal factory traffic for Continental. But now I’m back on the track with the yellow show truck, because the ADAC Truck Grand Prix at the Nürburgring is coming up on the third weekend in July. In this blogpost, I’d like to tell you why I’m really looking forward to this event.

Racing, trade show, festival – the Truck Grand-Prix has many faces

For me, the Truck Grand-Prix is a highlight every year! I was already there for Continental before the Covid pandemic – and in 2022 it finally started again. This year, Germany’s biggest automobile club ADAC as organizer expects even more visitors than last time, up to 150,000 people! If you have never visited the event, you should definitely come and see it! It’s hard to imagine what goes on at the Truck Grand Prix just from stories. Of course you can experience the weekend from different angles: VIP lounge, regular place on the grandstand, pit lane, paddock, exhibition mile. That makes all the difference. Depending on where you are, you experience a business meeting, a Formula 1 race with trucks, a commercial vehicle trade show or simply a huge festival.

In the evening, there’s a party at the Nürburgring

Things always get really interesting for me in the evening. When the race day slowly comes to an end, things really get going in the Müllenbachschleife, the most famous corner at the Nürburgring. Countless illuminated trucks and an open-air stage form the backdrop for an unforgettable party. Before the fireworks are set off, we get to make a concert with our horns. It’s going to be fat, really loud! And of course I’m also looking forward to having a beer or two with one or two of my colleagues from Continental….

Continental offers something new with the roadshow

But the party in the evening is of course not the only thing I’m looking forward to. The Truck Grand Prix is like a family reunion, people know each other by now. And of course I’m also really excited to see how our show truck will look this year among the other exhibitors on the trade show floor. Because compared to previous years, we have more space than usual. It’s just #ContiEuropeanRoadshow… That’s why the interior and the display of the trailer are completely new. We also had the entrance doors to the trailer repainted – In Conti yellow with black stripes. Now it looks totally coherent – and you know: I always pay attention to the details! I think our guests will be just as impressed as they were during the roadshow through the Baltic States and Poland. In addition, the chic electric tractor from Designwerk will be parked next to the trailer. It is definitely an eye-catcher…

I would be happy to meet one or the other of you blog readers at the Nürburgring! I’m off to the Eifel on Wednesday and will report back here on the blog as well….

Stay on tour!
Your Ronny
