Buenos días, Hola, and thank you for stopping by our blog (again). From Elche, I’m now heading towards Madrid. More precisely, to the districts of Coslada and Pinto.
My journey begins in Coslada. The suburb is located around 13 km east of the city center, right next to Barajas Airport. And it is at this airport that I am staying in a hotel. So you can imagine how loud and “beautiful” the surroundings are. The city itself is also characterized by high-rise buildings. Seeing things on foot is a challenge here – sometimes it takes me an hour to get anywhere.
Coslada: A huge tent and lots of partying
The first event of the #ContiEuropeanRoadshow in Coslada is part of the Fiesta de la Logistica and a real spectacle! There is a huge tent where people from logistics from many companies in Madrid come together. You can rent a table there, eat, drink and celebrate – just like at a party! In addition to lots of music, a stage and drinks, guests are served soup and stew. On the other hand, there isn’t quite as much interest in guided tours of our show trailer. But people have fun and experience Continental brand in a completely different way…
The tent in Coslada is really huge and offers enough space to eat, drink and talk. Photo: Ronny Nittmann
My leisure highlight in Madrid as a soccer fan should have been the El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, but the tickets are simply far too expensive. So I watched the Getafe v San Sebastián game instead. The final score was 1:1 – not quite as exciting, but at least it was some soccer!
Pinto: a district with surprises
After Coslada, we continue to Pinto, another district of Madrid and about 20 km from the center. Here we visit a local tire dealer called Recacor with our truck. The event is really well received and many guests want to see the inside of the trailer. Big tent? Loud music? Not a chance. Unlike in Coslada, here we are closer to the core of our product: the tires, in a workshop. The food also appeals to me more this time: cheese snacks, Serrano ham – tapas. Everyone gets their money’s worth.
And once again there are little cakes for me. Delicious. Photo: Ronny Nittmann
After my stay in Madrid, I’m off to Zaragoza. First I’ll wash my truck there, relax a bit in the hotel and explore the area on my day off. But more about that soon.
Until then – see you on the road,
your Ronny
