What’s up everyone? I’m glad you found your way to our blog. My name is Ronny, and I will take you on the road during the #ContiEuropeanRoadshow. How? I’ll be driving the show truck through all 35 countries of the roadshow and here you can join me on this exciting journey. Cool, isn’t it? But before we get started, I want you to get to know me a little better:

 

Who is this Ronny anyway?

First of all, the key data: My name is Ronny Nittmann, I am 42 years young and originally born in Halle (Saale), Germany. However, I didn’t grow up there, but in Aschersleben, before my family moved further direction Harz. So, I’ve never just called one place home!

It doesn’t look any different today: My daughter lives in Bremen, my sister in Wolfenbüttel and many of my friends in Wolfsburg. My humble self is living in Langenhagen (near Hanover), so despite the distance I’m in a good position to still participate in their lives. But not only my private life takes place in several places, also my professional life is diverse – because: I am a professional truck driver!

 

And what is this Ronny doing?

Originally, I started my professional life with an apprenticeship in the construction industry, but then I joined the German Armed Forces. As a regular soldier, I was deployed in the area of transport and logistics. The benefit: There, I had the chance to obtain all necessary driver’s licenses – including class CE (for heavy trucks) – to be able to work as a professional driver.

Since then, I have now been working for the haulage company, called Böhm, for more than 16 years – first based in Hamburg, then in Bremen and for a while now in Langenhagen. From short-haul, long-haul and night-time journeys to factory transport, all kinds of routes have been involved, so that I now already have covered more than two million kilometers behind the wheel of a truck!

 

 

And besides, this Ronny is also blogging…

Even though I’ve already covered a lot of miles and a wide variety of routes, the Continental Roadshow and being the driver of the show truck opens up a whole new adventure for me – and not just because I’ll be travelling in some countries for the first time. For example, I have already been to Spain on business: In September 2022, I drove a show truck to Seville for the launch event of Continental’s new GEN5 tire generation.

I really enjoyed this collaboration – and not just because Continental and my employer Böhm have been cooperating for a long time. I also found it exciting to get to know these many future topics around truck tires better. So, I’m also looking forward to the new adventure, the big roadshow across Europe.
