CasingManager Makes Carcass Management Easier

That was once upon a time: until now, dealers had to laboriously record the tire information with pen and paper after scanning the carcass barcode. Now the innovative CasingManager app from Continental takes care of this: the dealer simply scans the tire’s serial number and the app automatically transfers data such as barcode number, dimension and DOT number and automatically generates a pick-up order from the service provider.

“This strengthens our ContiLifeCycle offering and retreading in the commercial vehicle segment,” says Rafael Martinez, Head of Fleet Solutions Germany. ContiLifeCycle is Continental’s holistic system for reusing tires and extending their service life.

Digital process management

The CasingManager app collects all of the day’s orders and sends them to the collector as a complete order. As soon as the collector confirms the collection, the retailer receives an email notification. The carcass is also transferred to the Conti-Casing account, an account into which dealers pay the used carcasses of their truck customers and receive a credit in return.

Saves time and avoids errors

“By making carcass management easier, Continental’s new app strengthens retreading in the commercial vehicle segment,” explains Jan-Ole van Lengen, Head of ContiLifeCycle Germany. The elimination of manual entry saves time and avoids errors when entering data. This saves unnecessary transport trips and thus contributes to even greater sustainability. And thanks to the completely digitalized control system, the tires can also be collected directly from the end user in future – another service that increases the willingness to retread.

Competitive advantage for transport companies

More and more companies are setting their own sustainability targets and focusing on sustainable procurement. Resource-efficient tire purchasing can therefore become a competitive advantage for transport companies. The new CasingManager app is an essential part of this strategy and supports companies in achieving their sustainability goals.
